Healthy Weight Important, Weight Important

image003

Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is important for overall health and can help you prevent and control many diseases and conditions. If you are overweight or obese, you are at higher risk of developing serious health problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers. That is why maintaining a healthy weight is so important: It helps you lower your risk for developing these problems, helps you feel good about yourself, and gives you more energy to enjoy life.

Energy Balance

Energy balance is important for maintaining a healthy weight. The amount of energy or calories you get from food and drinks (energy IN) is balanced with the energy your body uses for things like breathing, digesting, and being physically active (energy OUT):

  • The same amount of energy IN and energy OUT over time = weight stays the same (energy balance)
  • More energy IN than OUT over time = weight gain
  • More energy OUT than IN over time = weight loss

To maintain a healthy weight, your energy IN and OUT don’t have to balance exactly every day. It’s the balance over time that helps you maintain a healthy weight.

You can reach and maintain a healthy weight if you:

  • Follow a healthy diet, and if you are overweight or obese, reduce your daily intake by 500 calories for weight loss
  • Are physically active
  • Limit the time you spend being physically inactive

Google faces up to $5 billion fine from Competition Commission of India

Google

NEW DELHI: Google, which is facing antitrust investigation in India by fair trade watchdog CCI, can face a penalty of up to about five billion dollars if it is found to have violated competition norms of the country.

268985-google

Google said it is “extending full cooperation” to the CCI in its investigation. The conclusion of a two-year review by the US antitrust watchdog has concluded that the company’s services were good for competition, it added. The case has been before the Competition Commission of India (CCI) as well for over two years now and it relates to allegations that Google is abusing its dominant position in the internet search engine space.

Under competition regulations, an entity found violating the norms could be slapped with penalty of up to 10% of its three-year annual average turnover. In the case of Google, its annual revenues in the last three years amounts to a staggering $49.3 billion and the maximum penalty can be up to nearly $5 billion. When asked about the ongoing probe and the potential penalty of up to five billion dollars, a Google spokesperson told : “We are extending full co-operation to the Competition Commission of India in their investigation.” “We’re pleased that the conclusion of the Federal Trade Commission’s two year review was that Google’s services are good for users and good for competition,” he said in an e-mailed statement.

While Google has settled anti-trust cases in the US and European Union, Indian competition regime does not have provisions for settlement process. Besides a complaint filed with CCI cannot be withdrawn. Finding prima facie evidence of violations, CCI had referred the matter to its investigation arm — Director General (DG) — for a detailed probe.

Sources said that the DG has also collected comments from third-parties with regard to this case and it is likely to soon submit its report to
CCI. The Director General could not be contacted for comments. Apart from penalty, CCI is empowered to pass orders to correct a company’s conduct in the market place. Also, the regulator can go for structural remedies that could see breaking up of dominant enterprises into separate businesses.

The complaint against Google, also one of the world’s most valued company, was first filed by advocacy group CUTS International way back in late 2011. Later, matrimonial website matrimony.com also filed a complaint. Referring to Google’s settlement with the European Commission, matrimony.com counsel Ferida Satarawala said: “Google’s unfair use of trademarks as well as its retaliatory conduct are not specifically addressed in the European settlement and are distinct theories of harm being pursued by the CCI. Therefore, this settlement is unlikely to address CCI’s concerns in our case”.

Why do we need friends?

Best Friend, Dear Friend, we need friends

friendship-quotes-pictures

When you think of a friend, what are some of the things you think of? A person you can trust? A person you get along with really well? Someone who has the same sense of humor as you do?

Why Do Boys Need A Friend Who Is A Girl

A friend is any person who fits these descriptions, as well as many others. It’s important to have friends because it’s important to have a “support system” of people you can depend on. When we think of “friends” we often think of people we aren’t related to, like a kid you know from school or from the house next door. But friends can definitely also include your relatives like siblings, cousins, or even parents! – The neat thing about friends is that they come in lots of shapes and sizes, and there’s no limit on how many you can have!

Some people have a really easy time making friends, while others take longer getting to know people. As you grow up, you might find that you like having lots and lots of different friends, or that you prefer having just one or two friends that you’re really, really close to!

Why choose WordPress for your website

Why choose WordPress, WordPress for your website, WordPress is best

Why chose WordPress for your website? It is still often (wrongly) regarded as a simple blogging platform. Maybe that was the case in the early days but now WordPress has become so much more

Why-You-should-Choose-WordPress-for-Web-Content-Management

Open Source Software

This basically means the software is free to download and use, this encourages innovation and creates a helpful community, willing to share it’s knowledge. Although as a novice you may want your developer to build your site, over time the help is there if you want it.

Easy to Install

Good web hosting companies offer quick one click installation of wordpress and have optimised systems to work seamlessly with the platform.

Great Themes

A theme provides the look of your website, there are many good free themes and premium (paid) themes available to give your site the feel you want. A developer can also customise an existing theme or create a fully customised theme tailored for your exact requirements.

Plugins

Plugins add additional features to your website, for example, if you want a fancy image a gallery there’ll be a selection of plugins available to you. If you are looking for any particular feature for your website there’ll probably be a selection of plugins available, many are free to use.

S.E.O

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) this is making your site search engine friendly and getting it to appear high up in the search engine results page. This area is constantly changing and be wary of companies who can promise miraculous results, however there are still a number of simple things you can do with your wordpress site to assist it’s performance.

Generally wordpress is very SEO friendly but there are also some excellent SEO plugins to fine tune your website.

Simple CMS

CMS (Content Management System) this allows the user to publish and edit their content easily and quickly. You don’t need to be an experienced programmer to update your pages, if you are used to using Word then updating the content will be simple.

Expandable and Adaptable

A wordpress business website can be as big as you want it to be, from a simple blog page to large website with a number of complex features including ecommerce. The website can grow and adapt as your business evolves.

Best Friend, Friend

Note-For-Friend-

Do feel God every passing moment
He listens to my prayer for you
Though we’re separated by the miles
I send to you my prayers and smiles.

Your kind words do touch my heart
Your sweet kindness, I will treasure
God brought us to each other,
Our friendship will remain forever.

About plugin, About WordPress plugin

wordpress-plugin

Introduction

WordPress Plugins allow easy modification, customization, and enhancement to a WordPress blog. Instead of changing the core programming of WordPress, you can add functionality with WordPress Plugins. Here is a basic definition:

WordPress Plugin: A WordPress Plugin is a program, or a set of one or more functions, written in the PHP scripting language, that adds a specific set of features or services to the WordPress weblog, which can be seamlessly integrated with the weblog using access points and methods provided by the WordPress Plugin Application Program Interface (API).

Wishing that WordPress had some new or modified functionality? The first thing to do is to search various WordPress Plugin repositories and sources to see if someone has already created a WordPress Plugin that suits your needs. If not, this article will guide you through the process of creating your own WordPress Plugins.

This article assumes you are already familiar with the basic functionality of WordPress, and PHP programming.

Resources

  • To understand how WordPress Plugins work and how to install them on your WordPress blog, see Plugins.
  • There is a comprehensive list of articles and resources for Plugin developers, including external articles on writing WordPress Plugins, and articles on special topics, in Plugin Resources.
  • To learn the basics about how WordPress Plugins are written, view the source code for well-written Plugins, such as Hello Dolly distributed with WordPress.
  • Once you have written your WordPress Plugin, read Plugin Submission and Promotion to learn how to distribute it and share it with others.

Featured Five Rules

Featured Five Rules, Featured Rules

The Featured “Five Rules” is selected by the editor, possibly with input from random strangers. The criteria is simple – I [we] liked it.

Here are Brian’s “Five Rules For Life”:

Challenge yourself.

Set goals that make you s-t-r-e-t-c-h. It is a cop-out to make things too easy – always take it to the next level and don’t be afraid to fail. I would rather fail trying to do something that made me expand my abilities and work harder than I ever thought I could rather than succeed at doing something I knew I could accomplish with my eyes closed.

Make yourself a brand

Sit down and decide what you want to be, and what you want people to associate with you. Map it out and then work hard to make it a reality. When people think of me they think of three things: someone that helps organizations with their image and messaging; a captivating and entertaining speaker; a loving husband and father. That is my brand. Who are you?

Realize that happiness isn’t something you “obtain”

The sooner you realize that happiness is not something you obtain like a piece of furniture or a job, the more likely you are to achieve it. Most people think they will be happy if they get a promotion, make a sale, start a relationship with someone, or buy a certain kind of car. But happiness is created, not acquired. Have you ever wondered why – as a general rule – people with less are happier than people with more?

Live responsibly

This has many meanings to me – but basically it means don’t ignore injustices, treat others with respect, do what is right for the world and environment, and quit thinking it is “someone else’s” job.

Get a dog

A dog loves you unconditionally. A dog thinks you are the greatest, coolest, smartest, most successful person in the world. Get a dog and work hard to live up to its expectations.

FRFL dog

Brian currently resides in New York City.

Wordpress developer features

For developers, we’ve got lots of goodies packed under the hood that you can use to extend WordPress in whatever direction takes your fancy.

wordpress_development_banner

Plugin System

The WordPress APIs make it possible for you to create plugins to extend WordPress. WordPress’s extensibility lies in the thousands of hooks at your disposal. Once you’ve created your plugin, we’ve even got a plugin repository for you to host it on.

Theme System

Create WordPress themes for clients, customers, and for WordPress users. The WordPress API provides the extensibility to create themes as simple or as complex as you wish. If you want to give your theme away for free you can give it to users in the Theme Repository

Application Framework

If you want to build an application, WordPress can help with that too. Under the hood WordPress provides a lot of the features that your app will need, things like translations, user management, HTTP requests, databases, URL routing and much, much more.

Custom Content Types

WordPress comes with default content types, but for more flexibility you can add a few lines of code to create your own custom post types, taxonomies, and metadata. Take WordPress in whatever direction you wish.

The Latest Libraries

WordPress comes with the latest script libraries for you to make use of. These include jQuery, Plupload, Underscore.js and Backbone.js. We’re always on the lookout for new tools that developers can use to make a better experience for our users.
